What about Lightning?

No one can prevent direct lightning strikes, but a well bonded and grounded system can often safely direct lightening’s current to ground.

The possible inductive effects of nearby lightning are poorly understood by many installers. Just as an electrical field can generate current – and heat – in a motor, the large loop of wire presented by a poorly designed system can overheat and burn through when lightning is near by. Even the difference in electrical charge from one side of your house to the other can destroy poorly designed and installed systems in the event of a nearby lightning strike. We are careful to wire our systems in such a way as to nullify these effects to the best extent possible.
